Shiatsu is a Japanese healing art that means finger pressure. It is based on the Traditional Chinese Medicine which uses the energy meridians of the body, as in acupuncture. As well as curing, it is a preventive therapy that unblocks the energy channels accessing the capacity for self-healing. it assists in the treatment of many psychosomatic diseases, and other chronic problems. As well as the pressure along the meridians, Zen shiatsu also works with stretches and joint rotations which help accelerate the healing process by bettering the bodies overall circulation of blood and energy.

Treatments are divided into two different sections: Root and local treatment methods. Root treatment seeks to address core energetic and structural imbalances in the patient. Local treatment addresses symptomatic relief of patient complaints. For many acute problems, local treatment is enough. However, to resolve complex or long-standing conditions or to treat the underlying cause of the problem, both local and root treatments are performed at the same time. Once imbalances have been identified and corrected, the body's self-healing abilities are activated and it heals itself.
This Sports Massage uses the best of the oriental therapies. The stretches are taken from the Thai Yoga System, meridian theory & techniques from Shiatsu, acupuncture and cupping and the Deep Tissue Massage from the Ayurvedic System. The massage enhances strength and flexibility, relaxes sore and tense muscles and can help to recapture lost range of motion. By encouraging the lymphatic function it can also detoxify the body, heighten the immune system and prevent disease and/or injury.
Cupping is an ancient Chinese therapy in which a cup is applied to the skin and the pressure in the cup is reduced in order to draw and hold skin and superficial muscles inside it. Cupping is based on the meridian theory of the body. On one hand, cupping removes any stagnation in the body and opens the meridians so that qi can flow freely. On the other, it also helps to rejuvenate certain meridians and organs that are not functioning at their best. Cupping is known to help activate the lymphatic system, promote blood circulation, and is good for deep tissue repair.
