As our skin matures or age, the underlying youthful fullness and volume gives way to noticeable creases and folds that cause us to appear tired and older than we feel. This is caused by a gradual loss of supporting skin structures that give strength, fullness, and integrity to the skin. Similarly, acne breakouts can leave deep scars that can detract from an otherwise smooth complexion.
Dermal fillers can provide a variety of benefits for facial rejuvenation. You can use them to:
Bring back a younger facial shape by restoring a youthful V-shape
Rejuvenate your lips, cheeks and mouth area with fullness
Lift up and support the corners of your mouth
Fill in your jawline and chin and ward off nasolabial wrinkles
Boost the skins elasticity, moisture and glow.
Smooth general facial lines and wrinkles
Filling in acne and chickenpox scars
Contouring the cheeks or chin without surgery
Evening out and strengthening your jawline
Restoring aging, sunken temples
Rejuvenating aging hands
The Right Approach for You
During your consultation, we’ll carefully evaluate your target areas and design a specific plan based around your personal goals. For the very best results, we may also recommend combining fillers with another minimally invasive treatments like botulinum toxin and facials. Consultations with us are required even if you've already had the treatment in another clinic before. You may bring another person during your consultation. Written and verbal information will be given to you and you will have 2 days to think the treatment over.
During the treatment
We will once again discuss the plan and which products we would use. Before and after photos will be taken for your journal.
We start by cleansing the skin, pls come without makeup or products on the area to be treated if possible. If you wish to have a topical anesthetic, inform us during the consultation. The filler product will be injected in the area with a thin cannula or needle. Results can be seen immediately but the area treated can be red and swollen afterwards. This will subside a few days to a week after.
After the treatment
No downtime is needed after treatment and most patients resume regular activities right away. However, you should refrain from intense exercise or strenuous activities for 48 hours after your filler appointment. Avoid using makeup for atleast 4 hrs. Other things you should be aware of will be discussed during your consultation.
Can I combine other treatments with injectable fillers?
Patients often combine dermal fillers with botulinum toxin for more comprehensive rejuvenation. BOTOX® is ideal for treating wrinkles that form due to muscle activity as opposed to collagen loss. Other options for addressing facial aging include facial treatments and chemical peels to smooth fine lines and even tone, enhancing the look of areas treated with dermal filler.
Some complications may arise from the injection of soft-tissue dermal fillers including:
Bruising – This complication is one of the most common ones at the injection site. It can happen notwithstanding the techniques utilized. However, there are some steps you can take to prevent bruising, such as avoiding blood thinners, minimizing the amount of puncture sites, applying ice packs, and refraining from activities that may raise blood pressure.
Over-filling – When too much dermal fillers treatment is injected, it may create lumps, and form unevenness. Thankfully, correction is possible in most cases.
Under-filling – This can be easily addressed by injecting more filler into the area.
Granulomatous inflammation – This reaction can result from any dermal fillers brands, but it can also be treated with medications and graduated injections.
Tyndall effect – This happens when the filler is injected too superficially so that the filler is close to the surface of the skin causing discoloration. The complication should improve once the filler is removed.
Infection at injection site – This complication is not very common, and it can be caused by a viral infection that spreads into the site, most common in patients with a history of cold sores.
Products we use:
We are proud to offer you two different brands that cater to different tastes, Belotero and Revolax.
Belotero is an HA filler, which smoothes and fills fine lines and wrinkles, recreating the skin’s natural plumpness while also rehydrating. Belotero is made from the same volumising and hydrating component that already exists in the skin – known as hyaluronic acid (HA). HA can carry up to 1000 times its own weight in water, which means the skin’s smoothness (the hydrating effect) and the fat deposits (the volumising effect) are retained. The product is therefore a natural choice for people who want fewer lines and wrinkles.
The Belotero® range of fillers with its gel-texture is manufactured using a patented Dynamic Cross-Linking Technology that results among others in a monophasic Cohesive Polydensified Matrix (CPM). This advanced DCLT technology provides the ideal balance of cohesivity, elasticity, and plasticity to meet the needs of the targeted layer of the skin.
Belotero’s patented technology is registered throughout the world and is both FDA-approved and CE-marked. Belotero aims to provide quality and the best products containing HA for a guaranteed result, which is both natural and long-lasting.
REVOLAX is a non-animal crosslinked soft tissue filler made of the highest quality Hyaluronic Acid. REVOLAX works by adding volume to facial tissue, thus improving wrinkles, folds and restoring a smooth appearance to the face with plump, rejuvenated volume.
REVOLAX uses non-animal based Hyaluronic Acid of the highest purity and is a completely natural substance optimised to synchronise with human skin tissue to give a natural-looking end result. With a regular and dense monophasic structure which makes the gel product stable and consistent, the consistency of the pattern allows for naturally harmonised volume, smooth injection and promotes a stronger support system within the skin structure
